Mr. Josef A. Beckmann, the former president of Confederation of the German Textile & Fashion Industry, visited China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) on March 15. Mr. Du Yuzhou, president of CNTAC warmly welcomed the old friend at the Grand Hotel Beijing. Mr. Chen Shujin, vice president and secretary general of CNTAC also joined in the welcoming lunch.
Mr. Beckmann has devoted himself to building up a prosperous relationship between Germany and China’s textile industry when he was on the tour of duty. Although having left his post, Mr. Beckmann still expressed his kind will to maintain the existing friendship and consistently support the sustainable development of China’s textile industry. Mr. Peter Schwartze has succeeded him as the new president of Confederation of the German Textile & Fashion Industry on December 1st 2005.
On March 17, Mr. Yang Donghui, president of China Home Textile Association, met Mr. Beckmann in Beijing. They exchanged ideas on global home textile exhibitions.
